CE scheme – This scheme is the perfect course for any musician who is looking to upskill and improve on their Music Theory and Practical Instrumentation. It runs Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 1.30pm.
Applicants must be over 25 and in receipt of a social welfare payment in line with the guidelines set out by the Department of Social Protection.
No experience is required but a keen interest in music is essential.
Past students have progressed to UCC, CIT Cork School of Music or gained employment in the music industry.

LTI Level 4 – This course is open to applicants aged 16 – 35 and is perfect for anyone looking to start a career in Music. It is a full time course. Modules include: Music Theory, Music Practical, Drama, Teamworking, Work Experience etc. This course is operated in cooperation with Cork Training Centre, a training allowance may be payable. On successful completion of this course applicants may progress to Music Level 5, a major QQI award 5M2011.

LTI Level 5 – This course is open to applicants aged 16 – 35. It is a full time course. Modules include: Music Theory and Practice, Music Industry Skills, Music Performance, Work Experience, Music Practical etc. This course is operated in cooperation with Cork Training Centre, a training allowance may be payable. On successful completion of this course applicants may progress to Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, UCC, CIT Cork School of Music etc.

All students at the Cork Academy of Music are given the opportunity to play in an ensemble, rehearse in our practice rooms, take part in Community events such as Picnic in the Park, Cork Bike Week and much more.

Help is provided in applying to college, cv preparation and interview skills. CAM is based on the North Monastery Campus, we have our own Theatre, Music Technology Department, Piano Laboratory, Rehearsal rooms and a stage area for performances.

May 2017 – We are currently recruiting for our Local Training Initiative (LTI) courses at Level 4 & Level 5. These are full time music courses commencing in October 2017.

Modules include: Music Theory / Music Performance / Music Industry Skills / Work Experience / 1st study instrument / 2nd study instrument and more.

Training allowance may be provided.

These vacancies are part of our Community Employment (CE) scheme.

This course runs Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 1.30pm

Students will study Music Theory as well as Practical Instrumentation from some of the following: Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vocals, Percussion and Brass.

We have a proven success record on this scheme, students have achieved excellent results and progressed to 3rd level education in Ireland and abroad.

No experience is required but a keen interest in music is necessary.
